In 2021 we filled the 10 imported barrels, which previously contained Laphroaig’s richly flavoured, heavily peated, 10 year old Whisky, with our own Peated Single Malt Spirit. These are being released annually between 2022 – 2031 and available only through the Newcastle Distilling Co. Founders Club.
ABOUT LAPHROAIG DISTILLERY
On the far edge of the Scotch whisky map, it's supposed that the art of distillation was first brought to Islay by Irish monks. Being remote, it’s an art that flourished in the hands of the islanders, whose illegal operations tested the resolve and means of the tax man. Eventually, the law relaxed, various whisky makers set up legitimate distilleries, among them a pair of farmers, Donald and Alexander Johnston, who in 1815 founded their distillery on the island’s south coast. Laphroaig, so called after its location, ‘broad hollow by the bay.’
Laphroaig calls itself "the most richly flavoured of all Scotch whiskies", and is most frequently aged to 10 years, although the 15-year-old variety is common. The whisky has a peaty/smoky flavour. Approximately 10% of their barley is malted on site using hand-cut peat from locations on Islay.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Receive all current whisky releases, then ongoing released annually until 2031.
On completion, you will have received your full 10-part collection of limited edition Founders Club Single Malt Whisky.
The welcome pack includes your welcome letter, merchandise, certificate and membership card. You will also be added to our Founders Club mailing list to receive exclusive event invitations, bottle release dates and more.
*There is a $15 delivery fee per year, if you choose to have your Whisky pack mailed to you.
