Barrel # 2 - Victor Hingston - Single Malt Whisky
The second barrel in our series of eleven called "The Nomad". The aroma gives us sticky date pudding and delicious butterscotch sauce. Flavour wise we get the port influence with a hint of chocolate, light smoke, caramel and oak. The spirit has a good kick to it, in all the right ways and lingers on the palette for just the right amount of time, then eases down to warm the chest, making for a very enjoyable dram.
Newcastles first Single Malt Whisky - Victor Hingston Single MaltNamed after my late grandfather, my best friend, my idol, my mentor, Victor Hingston Moy. This lightly peated Whisky was produced in January 2017, using our on-site spring for water and a blend of Voyager craft malt and peat smoked malt. Aged in a 100 litre port barrel, travelling from (and stored in) the New South Wales Snowy Mountains, Australian Capital Territory and to it's final home in Newcastle. The movement and significant tempreture variations during this time give this barrel a unique mix of environments, giving that perfect level of ageing within the barrel.
Rich, elegant, smooth and described by a few as a Whisky unlike any others in Australia. Our new label is printed on a stunning textured paper, with gold foil strip and raised gold print.
Individually numbered bottles, available in cask strength, 60% ABV and in 750ml bottles.
